School Uniform

School uniform is important to our school ethos.  It reinforces our sense of community and helps pupils identify strongly with our school values.  We greatly appreciate the wholehearted support we receive from parents in the wearing of school uniform.

Most of the general uniform items can be bought at local shops or supermarkets. A few special items embroidered with the school badge, along with school ties and book bags, can be purchased from the Trutex shop in Northgate Street Gloucester or from their website: http://www.gloucester.trutex.com/

School uniform, and indeed all personal items of school clothing, should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.  If a watch is worn to school it is the responsibility of the wearer.  Jewellery may not be worn except where ears are pierced and then only plain gold studs are acceptable.  For the protection of your child and in accordance with the Gloucestershire safety policy for Physical Education, children from Year 3 upwards are expected to remove and put back their earrings by themselves before and after PE lessons.  Younger children are advised not to wear earrings unless able to remove and re-insert them independently.  If the earrings cannot be removed then the ears must be covered by sticking plaster. The wearing of false nails is also not permitted for the same reasons as for earrings. If a child has had these attached then they must be cut and filed to a safe length and then removed at the earliest opportunity.

We ask that long hair is kept tied back with a small plain hair band.  Decorative hair bands or head scarves are not permitted unless with special permission.  The school also does not permit decorative hairstyles (eg, brightly dyed hair, mohican type styles or hair with shaved decorative patterns).
