Year 1 Sports Day Practice
In P.E. today we ran through some of the different races for Sports Day. The sack race was extremely popular! Don't forget to join us on Tuesday 19th June at 10.00a.m. on the school field.

Class 1A Geography Treat!
In Geography we have been learning facts about each of the countries that make up the United Kingdom. We discussed famous landmarks, flags, music, national emblems and foods. Today we enjoyed scones for snack time as we have been learning about England. This was followed by shortbread once we recalled facts on Scotland. We are waiting to see what 'yummy' treats follow for Wales and Northern Ireland!

Year 1 Seaside Art Day Photos
There was great excitement across phase 2 today as Y1 & Y2 joined forces to study the artist Jo Probert. The children arrived in their vibrant clothes and one hundred and fifty pupils were mixed up ready to work with each other. The pupils moved between teachers as they used a variety of media including pastels, fabrics, pulses, tissue and magazines to produce seaside art work in the style of Jo Probert. We hope you enjoy our masterpieces as much as we do!

Photos Tooth Fairy Visits Y1
Y1 were very excited when our local tooth fairy Gemma dropped in for a visit, wings and all! Gemma who is an oral heath educator gave a detailed talk on how to correctly brush our teeth and which foods are best to keep our teeth in tip top condition. We were surprised to learn that we should all brush our teeth before we eat breakfast! Thank you Gemma we found out lots of fascinating facts about dental hygiene.

Class 1A Amazing Flag Work
Wow class 1A presented some more marvelous homework. As part of our geography the children had to make UK flags in a creative way. We had a range of media from hama beads and buttons to lentils and peas to Lego and felt. Look out for the fruity St Georges flag too. Well done children and thank you parents for your support!

Class 1A Marble Jar Treat
The children finished this half term with a special treat. They have worked hard and filled our marble jar to the top! Each time a child moves to the rainbow on our reward chart they place a marble in the jar. Once the jar is full the children vote on a whole class treat and this time they voted for a film and popcorn. Well done children keep up the good work!
