About HPSA

Introducing HPSA

The Hardwicke Parochial School Association (HPSA) is a registered charity, registration 1117501 founded with the dual purpose of:

• Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school

• Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

What does that really mean?

It means that HPSA exists to help raise funds through various activities to buy items and equipment for Hardwicke school that the school budgets cannot stretch to.

HPSA runs all sorts of fundraising events including Discos, Fayres, Book Fairs and Quizes to raise money.  We then work with the school to decide how best to spend the money raised, so that everyone gets to benefit.

What have we raised money for so far?

Since HPSA was formed and started raising money, it has paid for both large and small items at school including:

• The DT kitchen used by the children for cooking lessons, cooking clubs etc

• Tablet computers used throughout the school

• Interactive whiteboards in each classroom

• Infant keyboards with lowercase letters helping children to become familiar with keyboards before knowing their Capital letters

• Reading books in both the infant and junior libraries

• Christmas parties

• Specialist interest activities for key stages such as the space zone, historical days etc

• Sports equipment such as playground toys, kurling equipment etc.

As we are registered with the Charity Commission, there are strict rules governing how we operate, the records we have to keep, and how the money we raise is then spent.
