The children were VERY excited when we took time out to make Valentine’s fudge and rice krispie treats. It was a wonder either made it home as it was so tempting for the children to eat the ingredients, they showed a great deal of self control! Mrs Arinze and Mrs Bevan were in fits of giggles when they asked the children how they could turn the treats pink, some of the responses were rose petals, ketchup, jam and flamingo feathers…….no need to worry we used food colouring. We asked the children to give one treat to someone they love and keep one treat for themselves, we would love to hear what happened! Have a super half term break and thank you for your continued support. Mrs Arinze & Mrs Bevan

Class 4A Fun at Slimbridge! (96 photos)
Class 4 had an amazing day at Slimbridge WWT with their friends in Y1 and Y2. We managed to dodge the rain and enjoyed many fun activities. We spent some time with Georgia from the centre who gave us a talk on what lives in the wetlands. We used some impressive sound machines to hear the bird calls as well as going on a mini-beast and plant hunt. Georgia showed a nesting duck which was really well camouflaged. I think we all fell in love with the otters. Welly Boot Land was a definite hit and obviously a little wet! Mrs Arinze says her class were all ‘stars of the day’ and their behaviour was fantastic. A big thank you to our lovely parent helpers you were brilliant!

KS1 Cuddles & Cakes for Macmillan 2017 (71 photos)
There were lots of cuddles and cakes as KS1 hosted the Macmillan coffee morning. Together we’ve helped to make a huge difference to people facing cancer. Hardwicke parents and staff donated raffle prizes and a bumper amount of cakes. Together we raised over £521.00!
We would like to thank everyone involved and especially our Yr 6 pupils who pitched in with organising the hall, meeting and greeting our lovely parents, serving cakes and drinks and the washing up! Kind regards Mrs Arinze & Mrs Kerrod
Email received 29.9.17 I’ve just come from the coffee morning and wanted to say how lovely, polite and cheerful the children were on the door today. They were all so nice and did really well on greeting and thanking. It really put a smile on my face so well done to all of them and well done to the school. (EW Yr2 parent)

Both classes had 100% attendance so thank you parents! We had extra playtime and 4A had Justin for the day. He has gone to visit 5W now and Mr Walsh has promised to take really good care of him! Thank you parents keep up the good work!

The children enjoyed a walk between the storms! They identified wild and garden flowers as well as a few minibeasts along the way!
Class 4A Photos Talk4Writing (23 photos)
The children are enjoying listening to and retelling stories using the Pie Corbett approach. We've had great fun using the actions to make the tales, especially the key connectives, memorable. We have been working on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, see if you can spot when mum becomes furious with Jack for returning with a handful of beans and when the giant comes crashing down from the top of the beanstalk!
