Phonics
Phonics is a method we use to teach your child to read the sounds in words. It helps your child to learn to read quickly and skillfully and is an essential part of your child’s early education.
Please use the link below to support your child with pronouncing their phonic sounds at home.
During the closure of schools, we will provide parents with a Video Link from lettersandsounds.org.uk for parents and children to watch -this will be in line with the learning in the classroom.

Bug Club
This online resource, for pupils in Reception and KS1, enables Teachers to assign individual children an E-Book to read at home. These E-Books will be matched to their Book Band Level. Children are able to read the books at their own pace, and can complete quizzes at the end of the book. The quizzes are designed to check the children's understanding of the book.
Your child should receive an individual log in, school code and password. Please email the class teacher via slt@hardwicke.gloucs.sch.uk should you not have received this. Please follow this link once you have received this information.
