Under normal circumstances, schools do not provide free school meals to eligible children who are not in school. But during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we will continue supporting children eligible for benefits-related free school meals who are at home. Parents receive vouchers directly from the DfE to purchase lunches (though there is some delay) This does not apply to children in receipt of Universal School Meals.

You may also be aware, that pupils who are registered for free school meals enable our school to receive additional money to support them in the form of the Pupil Premium funding. Here at Hardwicke, we use this funding to support your child in various ways such as additional adult support, funded educational experiences, and new equipment.

Should you have any queries regarding the application, or Pupil Premium Funding, please email the school office admin@hardwicke.gloucs.sch.uk.

Perhaps you have not been eligible for any of the above benefits, but are facing financial hardship, please contact (fully confidentially) rsmith@hardwicke.gloucs.sch.uk Becky Smith is our Family Support Advisor and she will be able to give you some advice and contacts for further support. At Hardwicke, we have also been an approved Food Bank Voucher Issuer for a few years now, and if you feel that you would benefit from a Food Bank Voucher, please contact Rebekah Smith.
