Art & Design at Hardwicke

At Hardwicke, our intent for Art is rooted in our Christian ethos of “Do everything in love.” Through Art, we nurture creativity, self-expression and confidence while encouraging pupils to value themselves and others. We believe that art provides a powerful way for children to explore emotions, celebrate diversity and develop empathy, respect and understanding.

Our Art curriculum promotes the values of friendship, forgiveness, courage, perseverance, respect and service. Pupils are encouraged to work collaboratively, support one another, take creative risks and persevere when faced with challenges. Through the study of artists and artwork from a wide range of cultures and traditions, pupils learn to respect differences and appreciate how art can be used to serve and enrich communities
